Summer Movie Agony

This summer it is all about endurance. Both Superman Returns and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest come in at about two and a half hours each. Both movies are fairly entertaining but the long run times do little to enhance each movie. It must be a form of welfare or subsidation handed out by Hollywood to the theater owners around the country. The longer each movie runs the more opportunity there is for theater owners to clean up at the snack counter.

I have to agree with you ... the long lengths didn't ruin either movie for me, but the directors could have definitely used some restraint!
